Who We Are

FreshStart Junk was founded by Ethan Povey and Rudy Boyce, two close friends who met while attending Trent University. Now in our early twenties and finished school, we decided to build something of our own — a business rooted in hard work, honesty, and giving back to the community.

What started as a shared idea quickly became a shared mission. We both saw an opportunity to create a service that not only helps people clear unwanted items from their homes and businesses, but also ensures those items are handled responsibly. Too much usable furniture, clothing, and household goods end up in landfills. At FreshStart, we make a conscious effort to donate items whenever possible, giving them a second life and helping those in need.

We understand that junk removal isn’t just about hauling things away — it’s about helping people move forward. Whether someone is downsizing, renovating, managing an estate, or clearing out a business space, these situations can be stressful. Our goal is to make the process simple, respectful, and hassle-free. We show up on time, communicate clearly, and treat every job with care.

As a locally owned and operated business, we take pride in our work. Being young entrepreneurs means we bring a high level of energy, motivation, and attention to detail to every job. We’re not a large franchise — when you hire FreshStart, you’re dealing directly with the owners. That means accountability, transparency, and service you can trust.

At the core of FreshStart Junk & Donation is the belief that small actions can make a real difference. By combining professional junk removal with donation and recycling efforts, we aim to reduce waste, support local organizations, and help our customers start fresh.
